Thoughts, Difficulties and Actions in developing my Business Insights Report

In this blog I will talk about my thoughts, difficulties and actions in developing my BIR.

At the beginning of writing my BIR, I had concerns about not being able to complete the report. I actively searched for ways to mitigate this risk and the first step I took was to consult the research book recommended by my tutor. I dedicated myself to reading the book thoroughly, gathering and absorbing as much information as possible to enhance my understanding of the module lectures. Initially, I found it challenging, but as I delved into the research book, I discovered its intriguing and beneficial aspects. This newfound interest motivated me to delve deeper into research and the BIR module. Consequently, the content of the class lectures became clearer and easier to comprehend. It is worth mentioning that following the book’s reading guidelines proved to be difficult as I had to read multiple chapters simultaneously and occasionally refer back to previous chapters.

Being that English is my second language, it may have contributed to the initial pressure I felt. To give you a clearer perspective of my experience, picture yourself climbing a mountain. As you ascend, there are moments when loose stones cause you to slip, but you persevere and keep moving forward. Finally, when you reach the peak of the mountain, you feel an immense sense of pride and affirm to yourself, “Yes, it was indeed challenging, but I made it to the top and the feeling is incredible.”

Throughout this module, I have acquired valuable knowledge and skills that are essential in real-world scenarios. I firmly believe that this module is a necessary component for MBA students, as it delves into the intricacies of business problems and requirements. The Business Issue Report (BIR) empowers individuals to gain comprehensive insights into the underlying issues plaguing industries, companies, or organizations, issues that they may not even be aware of. By providing a combination of quantitative and qualitative information, this analysis allows for the identification of precise problems and needs. It aids in understanding why businesses struggle to address their issues or why their current actions are neither effective nor feasible.
